Antonio Chaurand Pichardo
Born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico, in 1989. He studied Visual Arts at the Instituto Allende (University of Guanajuato) in San Miguel de Allende from 2008 to 2012. He currently resides in Mexico City.
His work, primarily focused on oil painting, explores the human condition: from the unconscious and the individual as an isolated being, to the social constructs and structures that he creates, shapes, and inhabits.
He received the FONCA/CONACULTA Young Creators grant in 2014, 2016, and 2019 and has been selected for competitions such as the Pedro Coronel Painting Biennial, the José Atanasio Monroy Biennial, the Parametro de Lumen Biennial, the Yucatán Visual Arts Biennial, the Julio Castillo Biennial, the Alfredo Zalce Biennial, and the Rubén Herrera Self-Portrait Biennial, among others.
He has had nine solo exhibitions and participated in more than fifty group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, and Europe.
